It is difficult to measure cell viability without ambiguity in whether the test cells are alive or dead.
Various kinds of fluorescent dyes and stains have been used for the assessment of cell viability. In those cases,
the activity of a particular intracellular enzyme or the membrane permeability has been related to the cell viability.
When various kinds of fluorescent dyes and stains are used same time, measurement system require higher spectrum resolution
than currently used measurement system using optical filters.
This study is aimed at the development of the novel Spectro-Imaging system, which have high spectrum resolution,
and measurement of cell viability by Spectro-Imaging system.
The viability experiment using a cultured BY-2 was performed by two methods ? using Trypan Blue, and using fluorescent dyes.
Change of cell viability was measured by Spectro-Imaging system.
